Greetings! Welcome to the daCorneto Opera Studio! I teach students at all levels; beginner to professional. I take great pride in making every student in my studio a priority. Every session in the studio is geared toward establishing and maintaining a healthy, reliable, solid technique. The first half of the lesson is devoted to a variety of breath support and vocalization exercises. The second half is devoted to repertoire preparation and study. The main focus of the studio is to help all students discover their true vocal potential and fix any major vocal problems, should they exist.

Lesson rates are $80 for an hour (60 min), $40 for a half hour (30 min).

da Corneto Opera Studio is operated from convenient locations for Chicago and the western suburbs:  Skokie and Naperville, Illinois.

In Naperville, I teach at both The Bach Academy at Bethany Lutheran Church and Neuqua Valley High School.

I have been a professional opera singer (bass) for over 20 years. I have taught voice privately, managed my own concert opera company for 17 years and maintained my own studio for close to two decades. I can help you learn how to sing and reach your full vocal potential.

I guarantee that you will experience positive results from your very first lesson.  Please contact me today to get started!

"I have learned more about singing from Alvaro in less than one year of being his student than I have in my entire life. I went to a prestigious school, where I was mislabeled as a mezzo, and I came out with a wobbly vibrato, belting chest, and no high notes. I was unable to do coloratura with any accuracy. I can now sing coloratura with rhythmic and tonal accuracy up to a high Eb, the best notes I have were notes I could barely sing previous to studying with Alvaro, and my wobble is gone. I can easily navigate my passaggio and I have absolutely no vocal fatigue from singing. Through studying with Alvaro I have also learned how to talk healthily. I used to get hoarse from talking, and now I can talk for many hours without strain. This is true, Italian bel canto technique. There are no gimmicks, no quick fixes; there is only honest and healthy singing." -Caitlin S.
